Re: Plus.net won't be returning for the time being

Unfortunately if I didn't mention that I had a PM then there'd be no way of advising people on here how I would have known for sure that Plus.net aren't coming back here unless I've got some sort of sixth sense of course

Otherwise I could have been making it all up..

I wasn't twisting your words, If plusnet wanted ADSLguide to know they should have informed one of the mods who could have posted a sticky. Shame they use proxies nowadays to post their news.

"Perhaps some of the people on here are very happy to know that Plus.net won't be making a return to here any time soon?"

I'd love for Plusnet to come back to ADSLguide, hell, then alot of folks with weeks/months old tickets unanswered/deleted/closed could actually get a response to their issues. If anything not returning does plusnet more damage than the voice of a vocal few who believe PNs customers deserve a better quality of service.

I wouldn't say that they are using proxies to post news as it wasn't them who started the original "will they or won't they".

We already knew that Plus.net didn't have any intention of coming back anytime soon and the PM kind of put to bed why they can't see themselves coming back and I can see why from standing on both sides of the fence.

Maybe they've taken the people's advice on here and are spending less time getting involved in heated exchanges and are trying to get the ticket numbers down now?

When the normal routes of trying to contact Plus.net CS fails, the other 2 routes seem to have been well established now and this place is no more than a staging post for any weary traveller..

What a big, big shame..

I agree that there is no announcement to make since there was never any suggestion, afaik, that PN would be coming back. Probably would have been best to save the PM until someone here started another thread on the topic...

Probably best to lock the thread then since there isn't going to be any more added to it?

Perhaps what has been said has been said...

It would have been fun for people to speculate. My guess would have been you'd received a personal phonecall from Ian Wild.

In reply to:

A: There aren't many new readers on this forum anyway

Because "most people"* are signing up to other ISP's rather than PlusNet, so that's why there's not tons of new people on this forum like there once were when PlusNet actually meant something to people looking for an ISP.

In reply to:

B: Some of the ones that are frequenting this forum have views that are so polarised that it would be a worthless exercise trying to convince them otherwise.

Possibly PlusNet admitting that they know they're wrong and are wasting their time trying to convince people otherwise? Or they've realised that people who really are sick of PlusNet, aren't going to suddenly be made un-sick of them, because things have just gone far too far to ever make it possible?

Personally I think PlusNet lost a lot/all credibility when their marketing bloke insulted both customers and "non-customers" alike on this forum.

*no figures to back it up, but I think I'm right.

Wasn't that similar to what that little girl said in the Poltergeist movie?

"They're here!!!"
