Is it perhaps asking for your payment details so that a payment can be taken after 30 days, if you decide to stay?.

hi, further back in the signup process it says initial payment 0.00 or 5.99 if you select hardware, when you click proceed it takes you to your username , adress etc, then the next page says initial payment 29.99 how do you want to pay and asks for card or direct debit details , it says your initial payment will be taken immediately

Not sure what is going on here but I understand one of the Comms guys is going to look into it for you. Something is wrong somewhere but since it has been a long time since I signed up I can't personally say where.

I would assume that is a mistake. However I can understand PN requiring payment details at signup.

I've had a look into this and I believe it to be a limitation to our signup process only. By "Initial Payment" it is referring to your first month's subscription fee (that you will pay). If you enter a card number, as you're migrating in under the trial the system won't charge you. We'll only charge that card on your first paid month if your Direct Debit is not active, or if you choose to pay only by card.

The exception to this is if you order any hardware, where you will be charged for P&P (and the cost of the hardware if it's not the free hardware you order) on your card when the hardware order is processed.

Hope that helps.

Yep... that would normally be the case, but not for the 30-day migration offer. That text appears to be static to the signup process, but the system will not charge that until after a month.

Liam

Is it possible to get some text added to the page to expalin that if signing up on the free trial then the first payment will be after the first month?

Especially don't sign up using a credit card. Only PN can stop that, you have no control over it. For your sake use a Direct Debit, you are better covered for mistakes, like taking payment when they should not do so and when leaving you can cancel it at your bank...I repeat only PN can cancel a continuous CC payment.
