iplates free from some ISPS

From reading this article regarding iplates it states some ISP may give these out free of charge in the future to customers .
I am probably moving to Plusnet in the next 7 days have Plusnet got any plans to introduce this in the near future .

We've run a few closed trials where we've dispatched iPlates to customers but I'm not 100% sure what are future plans are in this area TBH, I shall try and find out.

Last I heard though the iPlates are dependent on you using eCat for your hardware ordering (which we're not doing at the moment).

The i-plate is a waste of money, you would be much better getting a filtered faceplate.

To achieve the same result as fitting the i-plate you can just remove the wire to terminal 3 (the ring wire) this is effectively what the i-plate does.

Won't dispute the benefit of disconnecting ring wire

I have old fashioned GPO cover plate with hard wired extensions. Disconnecting wire upped speed from 3.5mb to 5.5Mb.
