Sync speed again

[link to this post]

When my phone rings my sync speed drops to 0 for the duration of the call. What could cause this?

Filter problem - are you sure all phones are filtered
Line problem - possible card fault at the exchange
If you connect the router to the test socket behind the master socket then phone in (I used my mobile) with no phones connected does it still happen

I think a bad microfilter usually accounts for a connection drop during phonecalls.

All filtered. I'll try the master socket shortly.

I don't think that is correct. That just doesn't happen. What are you calling the sync speed?

What has happened about this thread? And it isn't helpful to raise a new thread every time you post - see this one.

Please will you post your full modem stats.

Ok I connected my router to the master and phoned my number twice.

Those are not readings of zero. They are failure of the router to provide a reading when it is requested by RouterStats.

My Linksys WAG54GS used to do that frequently when using DMT - it looked like a drop to zero of the noise margin, but it wasn't.

Either it has always done it and you just didn't notice, or the router is dying. Is it perhaps overheating? That can cause similar problems. What make/model is it?

Thanks. See my post a minute ago re your detailed report from RouterStats. The sync isn't going to zero, it just isn't being reported at times .

D-link DSL-2740B.
It didn't always do it, about 10 days or so ago it was fine.
