Chris, being on the premium service I know you get the higher upload but do you also get a better contention ratio? 20:1 instead of 50:1 ??

Oh wow!

BT dropped the 50:1 and 20:1 contention system when ADSL Max was introduced. Some ISPs still quote those figures, and if they do it is either rot or refers to the contention purely within their own system, not to their links to the outside world or your exchange.

I would be very surprised if Plusnet have such ratios in place - I don't think there would be much need for the complex throttling tables if they did.

Office level connections get "priority" through the BT systems I believe. I expect that's what the premium service is.

Ah cheers, I didnt know the ratios didnt come into play anymore. Out of interest what system replaced the previous?

All completed and a quick line check now shows the correct sync speed, what are the actual upload speeds you're seeing like now?
