Considering PlusNet few questions...

With ref to this post - http://bbs.adslguide.org.uk/showthreaded.php?Cat=0&Board=which_isp&Number=3527505

How up to date is the view my usage tool?
What happens if the usage is exceeded?
Are the phone bills generated on the portal?
If so are the downloadable in pdf/xls?
Is the line rental just WLR from BT just branded as PlusNet?
Is the voice call traffic just CPS?
Can the customer control what traffic is given priority?
Can you set the SNR margin for problematic lines?

How up to date is the view my usage tool? - Delayed 20 mins IIRC

What happens if the usage is exceeded? You have the option to set either a prepaid excess usage or just pay in arreard to a preset maximum you set on the Portal. When this limit is reached, the speed is limited to 128Kbps until the end of the charging period.

Are the phone bills generated on the portal? Don't know ... I don't ise PlusNet Line Rental
If so are the downloadable in pdf/xls? Ditto

Is the line rental just WLR from BT just branded as PlusNet? No. Read the Line rental spec and Terms carefully.

Is the voice call traffic just CPS? Yes

Can the customer control what traffic is given priority? No. This is set by a "profile" applicable to the Product you select.

Can you set the SNR margin for problematic lines? Yes, by raising a ticket on the Portal

Most Plusnet packages impose a lot of various restrictions as opposed to a 'clean' broadband connection. I have summarised them here.

Hi there,

Our Home Phone service is based on BT Openreach WLR and Wholesale Calls (so not actually CPS). You can view bills online and these are updated daily.

Thanks for the clarification Neil. I stand corrected.

Merry Christmas to all.
