Will you still recommend PlusNet......

[link to this post]

Thought I would post this here, as a fellow poster got their poll locked on the PlusNet forums. The question is a fair one, so here it is again. I have written the question to include the 12 month term as well.

"Will you still recommend PlusNet now there are 18 and 12 month contracts?"

Basically No!

Very occasionally given an out-and-out gaming requirement with low download expectations, maybe Pro.

But BT don't care! They want the sucker market and that is what Plusnet has now been forced into.

Bob: Demon dialup >> Freeserve dialup >> BT Broadband >> Prodigynet >> Newnet >> O2 Standard.
Purple Cloud for domain, email and web space.

Pro has gone. It was part of the BBYW packages. Only "Value and Unlimited left.

I would have recommended plusnet prior to the 12 and 18 month contracts, but definitely not now. I would not sign up for either of these contracts. These recent plusnet product reviews just go to show just how fast an ISP can change, in my case, in the space of one month. I'm OK, I signed up on a one month deal + 90 day cash back if I'm not happy. So far I am happy with what I have, but I have learnt from bitter lessons in the past, things can soon change. 30 days notice is the maximum I go to for this industry.

So I wont be telling all of my mates to join up and earn me some money, I'd rather stay poor and have friends. wink

PlusNet Pro (the new product) is different from PlusNet BBYW Pro.

The new product costs £0-45 more per month and excludes all value added services like Web Space, CGI, Domain Hosting etc..

They still have the free 240 mins voip. Which has gone belly up again!

Isn't the web space cgi cobblers being withdrawn anyway in favour of the new defunct PAYH service. I posted a few questions on the plusnet forums about some tidying up of the PAYH system, as there are a number of broken features which means they are not actually features any more. No one from plusnet has bothered to reply, despite my taking the time to provide useful feedback on their preview service due to be rolled out sometime in the near whatever, for which they will, I am sure charge people for.

Proof yet again to keep BB, email, web, landline and voip with separate providers.

I've only just migrated (managed to miss the long contracts by a matter of days)

I've been really impressed so far but wouldn't recommend anyone signing up to an ISP with a long contract. In fact if the long contracts had been in place before I joined then I wouldn't have bothered.
