Just wanted to thank Plusnet, TOP ISP !

Came over from 02(hell) and had plusnet tech support chase up a problem at BT Side (a exchange fault).

its due to be fixed, and so far I'm totally 100% satisfied with how plusnet have dealt with the issue, you can actually speak with a English Person (No Call center in India) and there answers are never scripted.

One of the King of the ISP, and there's not many in England that you would consider good.

Long may Plusnet carry on supplying excellent products, I will recommend to all my mates and have done, and if your thinking of switching look no further !!

How many non-english people in call centres in India did you find yourself in touch with while at O2?

I didn't know O2 was available in America anyway!

For some reason the OP included a dig at non-English people in establishments overseas, as well as his justified though somewhat hyperbolic criticism of O2 Access.

He used American spelling so I thought that might be where he is, or at least where he is from.

Well judging from my experience of an insurance company using an Indian call centre he has a point. The person I spoke to had a script. He couldn't understand anything that diverged from it. His understanding of English was very poor and his understanding of basic insurance questions non existent. It was a bad experience.

However I have also spoken to Indian call centres that have been the height of efficiency and understanding.

Maybe you have always been lucky.

The point of my post, if you read it again, is that O2 do not use Indian call centres. The implication in the OP was that he had been suffering from such.

All O2 support is UK based. The OP's remark was totally irrelevant in the context.

That may be so but it is not inconceivable that O2 employ people of Indian origin in their UK call centres. Having worked in IT in this country for 20-odd years I've come across a great many, some of whom are very comfortable with English while others clearly struggle.

Steve

Same can be said for a Liverpudlian call centre.

Agreed. That doesn't alter the irrelevance of the OP's gratuitous remark. It is also quite possible such people work on the telephone side of Plusnet support.

It was just silly.
