Plusnet is BT WLR so is still a BT line. It's only on full LLU (FMPF) that the phone line needs to be returned to BT smile.

As long as the phone renter accepts foreign ISPs. Plusnet do not for new signups.

Hi there,

You can keep your phone service when migrating your broadband away, but you'd need to request this as part of the cancelling as it's a manual change (we don't do phone only packages online).

You've got the answer from mand now smile. Just be careful what you say if you ask for a MAC though. She uses the word "cancellation", and you are not cancelling. Unless you are very clear about that when discussing it you may accidentally get a broadband Cease instead of a MAC.

Most of those with other ISPs require at least one dialup every 60 or 90 days. Which is simple, but easy to miss after a few months.

Fortunately neither Plus.Net (nor Clara.Net) require dial-up access, just checking for mail (and not sure I even do that for Clara, as the mail rules forward my mail elsewhere - been years since I downloaded and I had no home internet access for a good 15 months after a house move, so no chance for mail clients to pull mail of their POP server)
