For new customers only.

[link to this post]

It appears that the new contract length is for new customers only.
I asked the question.

Question topic: Change My Product | ID: 30270852 Hi
Can you please confirm that If I switch from broadband pay as you go to plusnet pro I will keep my existing webspace etc,and from the 22 Oct the 18 month contract will no longer be in effect and I will be able to cancel or change tariff with no penalty
.

The answer I got was.

I can confirm that if you change over to our Pro package, then as an existing customer you could keep any existing web space. However, you would be subject to a 12 month contract as part of taking up the new package.

A lot of our customers used to see our deferred contracts and so on as a 12 month contract. It will be a 10 day notice period as of the 22nd and if you've not received a broadband activation, house move or router within the last 12 months, there wouldn't be any outstanding deferred contract should you elect to cancel.

Wasn't it going to be a 14-day contract after 22 Oct James? (With the perfectly reasonable caveats about the modem etc. in the first 12 months).

Usually a good idea for important factual mistakes as casual readers, especially of a rep's post, may not get as far as the correction

It is good to see your confirmation, which is what those of us who keep up with the PlusNet changes were expecting. However, why are your support people providing inaccurate information to customers? In this case the incorrect information is not in your favour, and others who do not question the answer may decide to move elsewhere based upon the incorrect information provided.
