Very Slow Browsing

[link to this post]

I have had problems with my browsing speed over the last 2 days.
Have checked my system for the usual spyware adaware virus etc but it all comes back clean.
I have this problem with both computers in my house have tried IE 7 8 and firefox.
But no improvement.

The browsing is slower than dial up at the moment.
Is there a problem with Plusnet

.

See the many threads about this on the PN community forums. Also see the service status.

Yes, there are problems for some.

Try a PPP disconnect then reconnect if it's possible on your router, if not then you will need to reboot the router.
The idea is to get on to another gateway, if you do a tracert first the second hop will show you which gateway you are on, then after the above you should find your connection on a better gateway ... hopefully.

OR you can use the Gateway Checker in the tools section here since PN is your ISP, and while you are there check out your exchange using the Exchange Status tab to see if there is any congestion there.

If things don't improve then there are other checks to be done.

Wont be a problem for much longer,
If plusnet dont get there act together
I will request my MAC
My browsing is unfit for purpose at the moment.
I have had to resort to using my mobile to use the internet.

Check the status here http://usertools.plus.net/status/archive/ there are problems at the moment they have added more capacity and are installing a new central pipe next week just click on the highighted text to read the various updates.

You can always swap gateways to see if one is better than the other

@Apprentice, we're experiencing dome problems at the moment during peak times across some of the Plusnet product range, Madasafish customers are far less likely to notice these issues.

@irc111, I'm really sorry you're suffering from these problems frown

As @tobykim has mentioned, there's a service status post here that goes into more detail about the current situation.

Disconnecting and reconnecting to get on a new gateway might improve the situation slightly but we're actually quite well balanced at the moment so any difference is likely to be negligible.

Utter tosh.

I've been having ongoing problems for months now.
I dont get anything faster than about 50kbs during the evening.
Tech team keep saying there is a fault on my line. How can there be when I get good speed the rest of the day until approx 3:30pm.

I've got my MAC and am leaving.
