F9 possible move

[link to this post]

Evening all First i would like to say i have been with F9 sice the days of the 2400kbs modem. So yes some time well over 10years now. Right i am on their premier account which is £22 a month and i get unlimited d/l between 12 midnight and 4pm and yes i do shedual my d/l of peak during the night. I was thinking about moving to the latest package with 80g usage peak and unlimited 12 midnight till 8am which cuts my unlimited d/l down by half i do probably 60-100g d/l a month so my only benefit would be the price cut to £16 a month. Reason im thinking of moving is the speed of my line I know its not F9 fault but It dont alter the fact that i can only still get just about ONE meg max line speed.Hence the reason for thinking of moving and Yes the only way i can see to go is with the little square service lid at the top of my garden Yes you got cable... Be fore you all shout at once here are my line stats to see what you think am i getting the right speed or could i get more?

You see im in a right dilemma F9 good customer support (and i mean good i have never had reason to complain and i have been with them so long and through all the good and bad times but they have always come through) But [censored] line speed Or Virgin who have [censored] Customer support or so im lead to belive But have good line speed??? Also the prices for what i am on now F9 premier with u/l home phone is just slightly dearer than the Virgin 20meg with u/l home phone??

Yes the choice is mine and yes i know all about the devel you know and so on I Hope your experiances and answers just might help me make up my mind
but I would love a nice bit of speed 3megs would do honestly LOL It would bee nice to start to d/l something and be able to watch itt the next day not the day after LOL

Regards Andy

The first thing to note is that with an attenuation of 52dB you should be able to get better speeds than that.
Can you try plugging in to the test socket behind the removable lower part of the master socket and report back the stats

Hello I will take me main router and move it downstairs and do as you say plug it into that socket as I use another router as a wirless extender so i can use my network when i am across the road in my shed and garage. So it will not affect anything as i have two wirless points i can log on i will leave the other still upstairs. Thanks I will let you know my results thanks. I take it i will have to do another speed check at that time I gave F9 all this info and they said i was getting all i could no matter what hence why i though i ought to ask on here where all the brains are smile
Thanks Andy

A speed check is not required only the stats

As as already been commented on, you won't see an immediate increase on a speedtest. What we're looking for is to see if your router stats improve once it's plugged into the master socket.
