Shockingly bad speeds from Plusnet "Pro" <1Mbit/sec

[link to this post]

Tonight at 8pm on the the think broadband speed tester I'm getting 800kbits (less than 1Mbit) from my supposed 8Mbit "21CN" line. I have a problem on the line in that is only connecting at 6208 Mbits however I have NEVER had a speed as low as this tonight. I've never had any problem whilst on the 20CN network achieving a reliable at least 750KBytes upwards (7000+ Mbits, connection usually 8128Kbps),

Think Broadband Speed Test Results

Edit: Slightly later test at 9pm with 700kibts
Slightly later speed test

My Broadband Speed (Plusnets own I believe) showing 1.8Mbps take again at 9pm
My Broadband SpeedTest

My Router Stats at 9pm
Netgear Router Stats

In fact the low evening speeds on the 21CN are partly what caused my problem on the line in the first place since in the past I rebooted the router to try and get a better connection or because of latency issues (which WAS often successful allowing up to 8Mbits again) it did in fact lower my line profile and probably increased my SNR - hence the problem I've raised with Plus net. As I'm on the "Pro" product I also don't expect to have such poor performance on an evening.

I have asked Plusnet to (please) reset the line in forum posts and in Plus Net customer support yet nobody has replied to the results from the BT speed checker that were asked for or even given me a timescale. I have politely requested from Mr Pullen (Plusnet comms team) on this forum and via private message for an update and have not yet received a one.

The most annoying thing however is that I left long time ISP NDO (now Namesco) because of declining customer service after their takeover but at least I had a rock solid 2Mbits from the same ADSL 2 router (Netgear DG834V2 with latest firmware)!

Right, I've had a look and your profile has upped to 5000 - this is in line with the sync speed in your netgear screenshot. In order to get a profile of 5500 you need a sync speed or 6240kb/s or higher, as per the table at http://www.plus.net/support/broadband/speed_guide/ds...

Having said that a line test has picked up that you're in sync below the fault threshold rate so I'll get the fault escalated with that report code and update your ticket as soon as we get any more information.

A call was put in by Plusnet to migrate my line to ADSL2+ by today (the note on my call says its capable of ~11Mbps). It's now 5pm and nothing has happened.

This morning when I logged on at 8am for VPN work my line connection had frozen - it was still connected at 6150Kbps but I couldn't ping or connect to anything including the plusnet DNS'.

So instead I've been using my 3.5G phone to get online however it became laggy around 4.30pm (and having contacted plus net at 1pm wanting a quick yay or nay as to whether it was done had received no response) and having got desperate I re-connected my router in the hope the bad connection was that the line had been migrated and I just needed to re-connect.

The line is still connecting at 6150Mbps and the profile is still 5000. Is this work going to be completed today or can I expect to wait even longer? Can someone get BT to get their finger out and tell me what the heck is going on?????? I'd call them myself and rant but I doubt they'd want to speak to me directly!!!!!!! smile
