21CN LWEGH

[link to this post]

Apparently this exchange is 21 CN enabled.
This is a new account. Am i on 21CN automatically or do I wait
until PN are using it here?

Hi meldrew.

Depends on what product your on. That would be an indicator. If the Value product or a legacy product then its unlikely.

I have a related question. I applied for my line to be changed to 21CN by raising a ticket and have been informed that this has now been done. My speed however is exactly the same. I have rebooted my router and turned it off and on.

So some questions -

Do I have to do anything to get access to ADSL2+ speeds?

How can I check my line is now 21CN/ADSL2+?

How do I activate higher upload speeds (the link in your help pages does not work)

Have you checked what speed you are actually syncing at? Can you prvbide the sync speed, attenuation and noise margin from the router? If your line was below about 4 or 5 meg then you probably wouldn't see a difference. If it is faster than that then it may be that the BT IP Profile hasn't yet caught up as this can take a few days.

Also, plusnet maintain their own copy of the IP profile that you can see in the plusnet control panel under "connection settings" - "high speed broadband". What is that currently set to?

I cannot give stats as I am not at home at the moment.

If you get the full stats from your router, assuming you are using the Netgear in your sig, it tells you ADSL/ADSL2/ADSL2+.

See the Monitoring/Tweaking page on my website, scroll to the bottom, do the debug URL bit, and instead of the adslctl configure ... line you want

adslctl info --stats

Isuppose the question I should have been asking is whether a 21CN exchange should give a better speed than an exchange that has not been modified without having upgraded my plusnet value connection?

Where do I see this info in router setup?

Stats are -

Line Attenuation 42.0 db 24.5 db
Noise margin 6.3 db 16.0 db

Sorry...now telnet'd to router and still cannot see any statement about ADSL type. Only thing I see is "ADSL2" framing what ever that means.

What should I be looking for?
