We switched to the Pro package about two months ago or so. It's been working fine and although we experienced a marginal drop in speeds in the evening there was nothing to be concerned about.
But this has changed recently.
We noticed from around 4:30/5pm our speeds were dropping substantially. We ran some tests and we're getting downstream speeds of 100kps sometimes even slower. This always happens around 4:30/5pm and usually disappears around midnight.
To me it looks like clear traffic throttling by someone.
I have raised a ticket and called customer support. I was told we had to wait up to three days for them to look into this.
They use the word fault but this doesn't appear to be a fault - unless faults can re-occur at the same time and end at the same time every day!
Anyway I would be interested to hear from other Pro users who have or have not experienced the same thing.
Checking their forum it doesn't appear to be a problem with many other people or people aren't posting about it. Is it just us or others?
We really need to get this fixed as we use our computers at home during the day and in particular my flatmate trades online so dropped connection speeds are not good for him. As a pack up he has a vodafone USB PAYG dongle
We've been with Plusnet for years and never had any problems with the service or customer support but it's getting harder to remain positive to be honest.
