"Those of you that havent been keeping abreast of our Service Status feed may have missed the posts we made last week about us increasing the amount of central capacity available on our 20CN and 21CN broadband platforms."
It wasn't so long ago that PlusNet reduced their capacity and extinguished a few pipes, so that they could squeeze a few extra punters onto the handful of remaining congested and shaped pipes.
As I remember - jelv took credit for bringing this reduction to the public's attention and I believe there was a kitz site that recorded this as well - I can't locate these references at the moment, though.
I searched long and hard but the reductions in bandwidth don't seem to have been things trumpeted on plus net's home page; this is in stark contrast to their publicity around the latest capacity upgrades. I'd be interested in being proven wrong!!
Does anyone have links to pages which recall plus net's decision to flex capacity downwards - I can't find 'em but I know it used to happen? It would be good to reflect on the extent to which plus net has either lit or extinguished pipes over the years. Plus net's front page doesn't currently reflect the previous cuts that were foisted upon users like me.
PS: I'm a very happy Be* customer at the moment, but I did endure PN for many years, and campaigned against their wrongdoings rather sooner than some of the other people on this board.
