Connectivity issues tonight?

[link to this post]

Hi, I've had an outage tonight, for an hour or two. Not sure how long exactly, as I walked away and left it, it the end, and have only just managed to get back online.

The symptoms were as if I had a DNS problem - i.e. appearing to be connected, but unable to navigate to any sites.

I checked the service status, and it does show a major service outage with similar symptoms today (ref. 63736), but it was supposedly resolved by 3 p.m.

If there are any PN reps around, just wanted to let you know that I experienced this same problem after 9 p.m. (although alright again for the moment), so not 100% convinced of its "resolved" status.

OK, PN portal is down now(!) but I see from the separate user forums that this connectivity issue clearly did extend into the evening, and I was far from the only one affected.

Hi there,

Yes, seems to have been better today, thanks - not wishing to tempt fate or anything.

Actually, I think it might have been on the blink for quite a few days before yesterday's big outage, because I'd been having sporadic episodes of what looked like DNS problems for a while. At first, I blamed Open DNS, which I was using, but noticed it didn't seem to fix it when I switched back to automatic, so should have been using Plusnet's ones.

I'm glad it's confirmed there has been a problem - I was starting to suspect my modem.

Tina
