Re: Router stats - where are they?

[re: deleted] [link to this post]

XRaySpeX is correct - you can't get them from the normal router. Only from the modem itself or VDSL2 routers, which come a bit pricey and all seem to have some drawback or other.

If the Openreach modem is an HG612, (look underneath), then you can easily unlock it. See the Instructions and Unlocked images on this page.

Bald_Eagle1 on these forums also occasionally updates the graphing scripts for Windows, which access an unlocked HG612 and produce rather good graphs - plus an extremely useful on-going log of the stats.

Unfortunately, unlocking the other OR modem, the ECI is a bit more difficult http://hackingecibfocusv2fubirevb.wordpress.com/

It's probably easier to buy a HG612 on fleabay.

Which is why I said in the post that it was easy with the HG612.

That's a coincidence, because I used similar reasoning to say the ECI was hard wink

It would need to be a VDSL2 router smile. That would be in its spec sheets.
