Re: Router stats - where are they?

Calm down, having what we say criticised and questioned is part of the process whereby people end up with what is hopefully a more informed idea.

So your method can infer a speed closer to the sync, but with possibilities for IP profile being wrong, it is just an inference.

@MrSaffron I realise that 11.8% of 88.2% is not 11.8% of 100%. I don't pretend to be perfect and can make silly mistakes like anyone else, though it is a pity that my errors or the knowledge of others cannot be highlighted in a polite manner. There is no need to talk to others as if they are stupid or to be rude. It is something I will not put up with without giving as good as I feel I get. It was nice to see you have a pop at the 'High Priest' of TBB yesterday instead of coming down one sided. More of the same would make TBB seem a much fairer place to the watching world of BB.

Obviously I should stay out of this but I think it is phrases like:

'High Priest' of TBB

that have caused people to respond in a somewhat harsher manner to you than they normally would. Your history over the last few weeks comes across as just wanting to bash Plusnet no matter what - your experience with them was not good but a number of others have no issues with them and haven't experienced what you have. Just different points of view based on personal experience.

Possibly.

Quite possibly it is the usual condescending reply that brings about such phrases.
I would hardly describe stating facts as "wanting to bash Plusnet no matter what". Even if it was, I would consider it infinitely more acceptable than endorsing them regardless of their incompetence.
Quite apart from the reign of terror I experienced with Plusnet, the world looking on has seen multiple instances of Plusnet misinformation, both from PN staff here and their seriously out of date information pages, so it is little wonder chaos ensues. A test of an ISP is the response when something goes wrong. Praise from a user who has had problem free Broadband and no need to contact customer services is not much of a yardstick.

You could always do a BT speedtest and add 11.8% to the resultant line profile.
Except that the fact was badly wrong for fibre

Fact?

Bombs? Bailiffs? Threats of, or statements of surprise that no-one has committed, physical assault on you, entailing serious bodily harm?
(Now where have I seen the latter on these forums?)

My broadband basic info/help site - www.robertos.me.uk
My domains, website and mail hosting - Tsohost. Internet connection - Plusnet Value Fibre FTTC 80/20 trial.

Wake up for God's sake Jim. I have already stated I knew nothing about fibre, as did the clever-dick that was finding fault with me, not that he let that stop him. A check back will show that I have already stated I made a silly error, though unlike some here I don't pretend to know all or be perfect. I was more intent in showing the OP there was a way to arrive at the sync when others had said there was none.
