I appreciate that they aren't the best of routers but I'm currently using one and it's actually working ok other than the wifi which seems very sensitive to router positioning.

Once set up the interface shouldn't have to be used again as they won't do any fancy things with it.

Also at £5 from Plusnet or not a vast amount more secondhand on ebay they're also cheap so if it doesn't work very well then it can be scrapped and I'll get them something else instead.

A late suggestion. A BT HH2 will work with PN and I am sure they have USB ports. My experience of the 582n was that it was not worth the £4.99 postage but then maybe I was unlucky.
