I can not beleave this. I signed up to the Fibre Extra (broadband only) package at the begining of last month, with an install set for 31st December. I hope they will let me switch me over.
Yes, you'll be able to move across once everything's up and running.

Rgds,
Isn't his worry that he might have to wait a month to his first post-connection billing date Bob? Rather than starting on the new product on 31 December, which he would clearly prefer?

My broadband basic info/help site - www.robertos.me.uk | Domains,website and mail hosting - Tsohost.
Connection - Plusnet Extra Fibre (FTTC). Sync ~ 54.0/14.9Mbps @ 600m. - BQM

I can almost definitely live with 250gb, but why not have unlimited for the same price.

We could probably cancel the upgrade and switch straight across to the new package but I'd be loathe to do that in case it causes problems. If you can live with Extra for a month then it's definitely the preferred option.

What I find interesting is that plusnet are removing all rate limits because they believe them to be in breach of new unlimited regulations, yet BT their owner on their own isp infinity rate limits p2p upload 24/7 on their own unlimited product and download as well for 6-8 hours a day at peak which if plusnet are right is in breach.

I feel as if I chose the wrong isp now tongue Although when ordered only infinity was available for my cabinet.

It's all to do with how you market the product. You can sell 'ulimited' and squeeze certain traffic but you have to have certain clauses in your advertising which we don't want to do. We'd rather have an Unlimited product without all the small print.

TalkTalk have an 'unlimited' product with a 40GB cap don't they?* That's a good example of what I mean.

In short, I'm pretty sure BT aren't in breach of any guidleines/regulations.

Presumably you'll still have a claus regarding abuse of the system impacting others, so you will be able to prevent a greedy downloader affecting others?
