You probably have the same thing, but you also have something else. The download speeds should not be varying like that - the other thing is just a 40/2 provision by mistake.

Are you testing wired or wireless? Are you sure when you test the speed only you are using the connection? If wired, and only you using it, then you need to get onto Plusnet about both issues, and hope they don't get confused.

If it's wireless then try wired and just you .

I'm testing wireless and it's just me. I'll give it a go wired when I can figure out how to shift my Mac close enough to connect it.

After spending hours trying to fix my connection I rang them and it was fixed right away, it was at their end. I'd suggest you do.
