I think it is becoming clear that speed test results on Plusnet are a bit lower than the same line on other WBC suppliers. Plusnet argue this is due to the way the speedtest timers work being affected by the buffering inherent in the prioritisation system, and that the actual speed is higher than reported.

I can't quite get my head round it, as I don't know exactly how the speed tests know when the first and last packets are received by you, but I think it's to do with the length of time to empty the buffer being added to the real transmission time. Sometimes that looks OK to me, other times I look at it and think it's rot.

@Rob, I see, I have seen something similar mentioned before, maybe on here. As our friend above clearly missed, Its not that big of a deal as long as the speeds are consistent and pings are good (I'm a PC gamer) I'll be happy.
