BT bean-counters will no doubt have some impressive spreadsheets driving it all.
Probably. It will be interesting to see if they can make it pay, but they have deep pockets to run a 10 year experiment, and really hurt Sky in their key income stream.
Sky have worked hard over the last 3 to 5 years to expand their platform into "entertainment" as well as Sports and Movies, and achieved a lot as all but one person I know don't have sports or movies, just entertainment. The Sky Atlantic channel is really a nice freebie.
BT are trying, but a lot of people only want premier league, and are not willing to pay two providers. Sky giving (ADSL) broadband for free to sport subscribers are fighting back.
