It goes up £1.45 if you pay monthly and £1.50 if you pay in advance how does that make sense.

I had Line rental saver with BT and 40/10 FTTC, 15GB with PlusNet.
PlusNet offered to take over the phone line rental with a better 24 month unlimited 40/20 FTTC deal.
Broadband 12 Sept and 'line moves tomorrow.
Yes I know they are owned by BT, but the 30 minute wait on 0800 gets a competent Northern voice.

HA !
I have just tried to renew, at 22:30, (even though mine is not due until end of October), BUT the website already has THE NEW PRICE, GRRRR.
Got on the phone...45 min wait !!!!
Raised a ticket....
Will they honor their TODAYs price ?
After all I will be paying MORE then a year in advance.
Regards,
Martin

OK, got a reply to my ticket:
1. I can pay the new price online, and then get a refund later.
But, they are not so good / swift with refunds....

2. I can pay the old price by phone.
Well, yes, IF I can get trough !

So, PlusNet is still fair, just not so well organized frown

Martin

Well I forgot to ring yesterday which given I had a one day window is understandable, am on hold for 40 mins to retentions number, seems all their departments are under staffed probably except sales of course.

The problem is I think plusnet are playing the same trap game everyone else plays where if you dont have voice they add a premium to the broadband price. So e.g. if moving line rental to zen to pay a more reasonable price but keeping the broadband on plusnet then wouldnt save any money.

For me with a connection coming out of a 20CN market 1 exchange then it makes economic sense for me to stay with PN for both broadband and line rental for the time being i.e. the months left of a 24 month retention deal. smile

Well, in all this time, I couldn't get trough on the phone, MIN wait time sems to be 30 min, often lot more...., quite unacceptable !!!
So, I paid the new higher rental online, and asked for refund by answering the support question.
Anyone want's to bet how long it would take to get the refund ?

Plus.net refunded the £24 difference back to my card the next day.
Well done, but it would have been better to get it right first time,
and as for answering the phone...

martin
