Re: Looking to move across from sky,few questions please

[re: RobertoS] [link to this post]

I am considering the 78/19, but wondering if to go the 38 first to see how it is and save a few £££, with the option to change to the higher option if needed. Though I understand I'd be taking on another 18 month contract

I feel stupid now, I didn't see he option to put the address in on the checker smile so I've now checked, We are a block of 2 storey high flats 8 of us, I've clicked and checked all of us and we all have the same clean and impacted range. So he must have some sort of wiring issue maybe our something as you suggest may not be quite right. I might approach him about this.

Do you have your own master socket, or is it in a communal room in the basement or something?

Do the lines come in underground, and the builder has brought it up to the flats?

Yes I have my own master socket, all the flats have there own pairs going from the pole outside, not underground, but to the wall tankers. A couple of the flats I think may have old wiring in possibly his. I've lived here 18 years and I had BT put in about 15 years back as it had no line at all.

Just about to sign to plus-net.

But...Looking at an email,sky have offered free landline for 12 months,pay £10 for BB and £5 calls. £15pm is not bad.Now I am stuck,as plusnet's offering with the cashback and paying LRS on 38/19 fibre is around £26pm.Different product I know.But its a decent saving.

It still says i'm with be* when I do a speedtest though,so staying with sky my reduce my speed now,if i go to there full LLU rather than partial.

My head is banging with this one,and the cashback for plusnet runs out tomorrow.

Think i need a cold beer smile

Full or Partial LLU should not make any diff to your BB speeds. It only affects the provider of your landline.

1999: Freeserve 48K Dial-Up => 2005: Wanadoo 1 Meg BB => 2007: Orange 2 Meg BB => 2008: Orange 8 Meg LLU => 2010: Orange 16 Meg LLU => 2011: Orange 20 Meg WBC

There is currently no supplement for not taking TV if you signed up as new customer

Those on older contracts are paying it, but changed a month or so ago for new signups. Whether it will last is an unknown.

With Sky there are multiple changes every week to myriad of offers, including promotions that sometimes just last 2 days e.g. TV bundle flash sale that passed by on Thursday and Friday.
