It was Quidco - came back as a Plusnet declined it - I have instructed to have it appealed and challenged... so hopefully someone will use some common sense - it was a specific reason you were chosen.
I trust you followed the advice on Quidco's site, (I assume it is still there), to clear cookies or use a dedicated browser before going in to buy.
It is standard with all companies that the purchase has to be genuinely
through referral from the cashback site. Not just a transaction routed through them.
If there is a cookie on your system from the selling company pre-dating the first visit via the cashback site they are very likely to decline the reference on the grounds of pre-decision.
