Re: Congestion at peak times ?

Well I'm about to move some of my latency sensitive services such as gaming and VoIP onto an Xilo ADSL line... will only be around 3mbps but should be very stable...

As far as Plusnet goes, I've got a complaint ticket open and also another regarding a isolated ping issues at PLusnet's Telehouse North Gateway!

Now that their is a line installed at my address I will certainly be transferring over to someone like Zen or one of the other higher ranked ISP's.

http://www.thinkbroadband.com/speedtest/results.html...

First time I have noticed this, am in Aberdeen. I have been running tests for a while, more so since the issue came up but this is the first time it's affected my connection.
Am on pcl-bng02 gateway but won't be hopping to see if I get another as just about to go to bed.
Mostly my results between single & x6 is within 1-2 Mbps

Will see what the connection is like tomorrow & let you guys know.

I pay top dollar for this?

I'd agree if you were paying £30.00 or more per month for just a FTTC broadband connecton smile

Noticed a lot of packet-loss tonight

Ignore the big red section at around 21:30, I was trying to play a game and the PL was causing issues so I took the connection offline as it was the quickest way to force all traffic to use my Virgin (cable) connection.

*update*

Took them 7 days to accuse me heavily downloading during peak periods. I cant see how netflix would max out my connection however it was strange hot it rectified itself after a reboot at 2am in the morning

You where most probably on a saturated endpoint, and the drop in pppoe session resulted in you connecting to a endpoint with spare capacity , you can do this yourself by dropping the pppoe session in your router ( don't reboot modem) AKA Gateway hopping
