I j had a phonecall from Plusnet earlier, I do not normally answer that phone, but I was just going past it when it rang.

Anyway, they offered me Plusnet TV for nothing. When ,my payment goes to full, I would get TV for free, I know it is only a fiver, but still. But i would still need to pay the £50 activation fee. That is a lot of money just to do a few clicks on a computer to get it activated.
I kindly refused. I know why they phoned because i clicked on the advert in the member centre by accident and it put me as interested, even if I did put a note in their ticket system to say it was a mistake and I was not interested, they still phoned.

Anyone else had a call from them?

We got fed up waiting for them to call, and called them. Our Plusnet Youview+ box arrived this morning, and after a painless setup, it's working well.

They gave us a great deal too smile

Which box did you get? And if you don't mind, what was the deal?

We got the Youview+ box ( the larger of the two with a 500GB HDD ) with the entertainment package, no activation and £1 per month for 24 months.

Just had a quick look at their site and it seems the box is the Humax DTR-T2100, which is the newest Youview box and is the one that gets the best reviews.

Would be nice if it was possible to load custom firmware like the older Humax FOX models.

That's a pic of the sticker on the box.

It's apparently a DTR-2120.

That is a good deal.

If i had a TV licence I may have gone for it this early in my contract, but I do not really want to bother with a Tv licence since i watched very little when I had one.
So if i went for Plusnet TV it would cost me over £200 by the time I add the activation fee on top of the TV licence.

Thanks, I ended up getting the same deal today. £24 for that box is a great deal, Didn't have to push to get the deal either. Not sure how the economics works out for Plusnet (presumably getting people to buy add ons) but very happy with the deal.

Rang Plusnet about the same deal above but i have just signed up for fibre extra 2 weeks ago ( install for fibre is next week) , But my offer free box and 5 a month , .

Maybe because i had just signed a new 18 month contract and the others may have been out of contract and there offer was to renew ?

thanks
