Recurring intermittent "server could not be reached" errors

[link to this post]

I'm on PN's Unlimited Fibre Extra which is working at full speed, but occasionally I find that browsing a web site on my iPad or iPhone results in poor performance, with sites taking a long time to load with nothing happening, just a blank page with the browser showing that it's waiting on or doing something, before getting a generic browser error page saying that the site could not be reached.

Another case is where a page loads, but a list of image thumbnails doesn't load at all, for example, when browsing a well-known UK holiday cottage website. If I switch off the Wi-Fi connection from the iPad so that a mobile data connection is used, then I get no such issues and the site loads quickly and completely.

My broadband performance isn't slow but the aforementioned issues are getting to be a pain so I wondered if PlusNet's DNS servers might be the problem? I've set my router to use Google and OpenDNS for DNS servers but the issue still persists.

Just wondering if anyone else gets similar issues.

Thanks in advance.

My connections are nothing to do with Plusnet, and my iPad is normally connected to my Three B311 router. A few times a week the BBC/News page does similar, giving just a list of all the links that DNS is required to resolve.

A single Refresh works fine.

I attribute it to the iPad, as the "listing problem" never happens on my Windows laptop, which is also fed by that router. I do very occasionally get a spurious "Page not found" on the laptop though. Also cleared by a Refresh.

Chrome on the laptop, Safari on the iPad.

My broadband basic info/help site - www.robertos.me.uk. Domains, sites and mail hosting - Tsohost & Ionos.
Connections: OnePlus 8 Pro max 165Mbps down, 24Mbps up on Three, and B311 4G, tbb tests normally 35-45Mpbs down, 65Mbps off-peak, 9-24 up.

Just a few moments ago I was browsing Facebook using the iOS app and clicking on a friend's post resulted in the spinning wheel and nothing else happening. Switched off the Wifi and hey presto, the post and all comments appeared.

Thanks to Apple, it's all Safari on an iOS device, regardless of which browser you use on your iPhone or iPad.

However, you have established it isn't the DNS servers, as you changed those.

I've also disabled some of the fancy services on my router such as QOS and DNS filtering so as to reduce the processing burden on the Asus router
