That was quick.

[link to this post]

Just paid my last bill before the prices increases and already Plusnet are offering me a lower price. when I log into their site, they are offering me the 36Mb/s FTTC for £25.99 instead of the £30.59 that I have to pay from now on. That is an 18-month contract, I could do a 12-month one for £27.99.
FTTP 36Mb/s is £24.99.
Now broadband is still cheaper for their 12-month contract.

Still have 3 months left on contract, see what they offer as I get closer to it, just thought it was a bit quick for offers.

Often I have found that Vodafone will provide a service at a lower price. Having found such a price I then ask Plusnet if they will match it which they usually agree do.

Vodafone and me? no thanks, had enough of them a few years ago with their mobile service. The service was ok, it was just their customer service that stank. I am looking more towards Now broadband to be honest, but will wait for a while longer to see if Plusnet can offer me something better. Now broadband has a 12 month contract for about £22, Plusnet is £27.

I'm being offered £26.99 for re-contracting (Unlimited Fibre Extra).

Thing is, I was paying £23.99 and the new price without re-contracting is £30.84. That's way more than CPI+3.9%, or am I missing something??

No, got 15 months of contract to run. I had a look on the Plusnet forums after posting here and there are a lot of people with the same issue. Some have phoned Plusnet and got it sorted. Plusnet are aware of a widespread problem apparently. Hopefully it gets sorted for all those effected soon.

Mine is going up to £30.59 next time, that is the in contract price rise. I can't get fibre extra as I am too far away from the cabinet, if I could, and I could get it for a decent price I may have done so.

As I said they are offing me £25.99 for a 18 month contract, now broadband is £23 for a 12 month contract for the same speed. I have been with Plusnet for a long time, so in one way it would be a shame to move, but that is life.

I don't why they want you to pay so much, it is strange for them to offer you another contract so early in your contract.

Fwiw, I know a couple of people on Now Broadband who are both happy with it. Don't think they've needed to call customer services, so can't comment on that. Speed/reliability seems good from what they've told me though.

OK - just checked the one here and lower than expected! Exactly £30.00 a little suspicious but calcultes to exactly that.

They increased the Line Rental and Fibre Extra by the expected 14.4% - what I was not expectling though was the negotiated discount to be increased by the same 14.4% so a £3/month bonus.

Just be careful I suspect Plusnet will be cease company soon. They will move everyones to EE or BT soon. Plusnet are downgraded everything now getting less and less and less. No more plusnet TV, No more John Lewis broadband, no more Plusnet Business Broadband and now no more plusnet mobile. Lastly soon to be no more plusnet broadband.
