My AV update has been going potty over the last few days, mulitple file updates at each2hr update.

Good job really, since my AV normally catches 1 virus a year, it has caught 4 in the last week.
Well done Avira.

A e-mail server that I used to look after with AVG installed caught 50 viruses a week for two users. Go figure.

Except for a marked dip in December, proliferation and infection rates have remained largely static for the past 6 months.

If you're using AVG it still probably has 50 viruses. AVG always seem to come last in any reviews I've come across. Especially the awful Free version which isn't even worth having as it's detection rate is so bad.
