Kaspersky Internet Security 2010

[link to this post]

Anyone using it or have any opinions on it or alternatives?

At present have their AV that I run with Comodo's free firewall. I have been happy with the AV; however, it is up for renewal soon and I can get the IS 2010 for the same price as the AV.

Thanks

Mike

I've been using it on three machines for the last year and I've had no problems with it.

It took me sometime to find my way around the user interface and some might find it a bit daunting, but it's not a major hurdle.

It seems relatively light on resources - in comparison to some AV packages I've used in the past.

As a litle 'experiment' I disconnected the computer from the internet - just to be on the safe side - and ran some programmes with and without Kaspersky, or any other AV installed.

I could not detect any difference in boot up time or access time of programmes.
If there was any, it would have needed a stopwatch to determine differences.

I'm not that much of a 'geek' though tongue

I shall be renewing Kaspersky in about a month when thhe license runs out.

If you do decide on kaspersky DON'T purchase from the Kasperky site - £49.99 for
3 PCs for 1 year.frown

Same at Amazon is £23.99 grin

I do have a child, she's 42 years old. crazy

I do have a 5 year old granddaughter though, both live in Liverpool, so it might look a little bit 'iffy' registering her school with an address in North Lincolnshire. tongue

Yep, running KIS2010 on two machines (one desktop and one laptop). Runs well on both without any issues either from a performance standpoint or from a reliability one. Memory footprint is also very light - the desktop machine is showing the AVP.EXE processes (one running under SYSTEM and one under my username) as using 16MB combined total.

I've been using Kaspersky for a few years now and I would always recommend it.
