IObit Security 360

[link to this post]

Downloaded this prog and ran it and it came up with numerous "threats" all of which commenced with either Acez.SiteError or Joke.Stressreducer. They are now quarantined.

Google doesn't give me a definitive answer so any ideas anyone please?

Below is the summary of the testing PCMag did on this programme, and it is not very reassuring
I would not rely on anything it reports.

I would run an 'online scan' -which are free to do - from Kaspersky or Trend Micro and see what they say; then get a 'proper' antivirus/anti-malware programme.

If you do not want to pay; try Avira or Avast both of which are generally well thought of.

Bottom Line

IObit Security 360 installs and scans quickly. The problem is, it just doesn't do the job of removing malware or preventing malware installation.

Pros

Free. Small download. Fast Install. Fast scan for malware. Includes toolbar and security tools.

Cons

Poor malware removal left many executables, some actually still running. Poor malware blocking did not prevent installation of malware. By default, installation changes your homepage and search provider.

Thanks for the reply and the opinion of PCMag. I already use Avast and in fact ran an online scan from Trend this morning and it found nothing. I have also run a full scan using Malwarebytes that has in the past picked up and removed undesirables! Not heard of Avira so will have look.

More to the point, what do these "threats" indicate?

Hi, I tried IObit Security and found it to be rubbish, I soon deleted it from my system.
For antivirus and software Firewall, I use FREE Avast antivirus with FREE ZoneAlarm.

Dont like the media player look! At program settings uncheck, Enable skins for Simple User Interface.

I also scan with Malwarebytes anti-malware and SUPERAnitspyware.

I use these great Small programmes to help clean up my computer.

Thanks very much for all that info. I already have many of those progs but use Sygate (the one before Norton fouled it up) rather than ZoneAlarm. I will check out the ones I don't have!!

A very Happy Christmas to you too smile
