Bit defender

[link to this post]

I Have used bit defender security suites for 3 years it did used to be very good at detection and didn't hog the resources, But this latest version is not good at all, when released it had multiple issues some are not resolved even now,not value for money, even though i have been compensated by extra time added to my original subscription of 12mths, They released a new build recently, but mine for whatever the reason has failed to download &update the new build files, but updates signatures etc every hour without problems, their idiot tech support say, make sure that you have the correct date set, even after i posted a screen shot of the signatures and engine number that has the date &time on it,fool's!!
But if that wasn't enough it failed to block and detect a well known virus/malware the other day that got on to my pc by simply browsing to a web page,(no user interaction required) called ave.exe ave info link

Had i not also had Pc Tools Spyware Doctor 2010 as well i would of had to remove it as per the link above ,as i don't have the two running at the same time ,I started swd up and updated it, then ran the inteliscan, it found and removed it without a problem, the ave was going nuts as soon as the swd started up, it knew it was doomed ,lol,

I think a change of av vendor for me next year, maybe pctools internet security or A squared anti malware and the associated firewall, A squared Pctools

I would think very carefully before divulging details to an uncredited "newbie".

Ditto

It's surprising he didn't leave (or PM) the contact number for his work place which can be checked.

Hi everyone,

I understand your concerns over security; the reason I had asked for Tommy's details was so that his issue could be personally escalated by myself.

I'm happy to PM him my personal BitDefender email address if need be.

Alternatively, anyone needing technical help can get in touch with us for support via twitter.com/bitsybd or email "[email protected]".

Best regards,
