That may be the way for me to go. Kaspersky Internet Security has for the last few years flagged up every email from RS Components as well.

My licence for Kaspersky Internet Security expires in 55 days, so I might as well try their Kaspersky Security Cloud Free - which is just Anti Virus and see how that performs. A lot of the bells and whistles of KIS I don't use or don't need (hopefully).

That's a good idea, especially if your email service is from one of the big providers that is already doing a lot of anti-malware and phishing scanning. (Gmail, outlook.com, or the paid equivalents for example).

Some of these "internet security suites" have become the proverbial everything including the kitchen sink, to try and justify the price. The problem is they hook the unaware into thinking this is normal behaviour.

Windows (and Apple MacOS) provides competant anti-malware built in, so the third parties are increasing the rhetoric as they worry their business is disappearing.

As is often the case with this forum it's gone completely off topic.

You can simply add an exception, follow the official guide below;

Whilst you can configure this, the questions still stand:

* Why does this application get in the way of standard TLS functionality?
* What is the point of replacing the browser dialogs and functionality that users may already know?
* Is this meant to scare the user into buying another year of "protection"?
* Are they sending all these certs back to Kaspersky HQ ?

The motives of these security suites is unclear in 2021.

This issue generally occurs when you access a device by IP as the certificate is not valid for it e.g. the cert is only issued to a hostname.

Try connecting to this site using 104.20.171.77 instead of forums.thinkbroadband.com and it will be the same.

If you are able to connect to bthomehub.home then it should work (check the cert for the correct hostname).
If you cannot resolve it then add a hosts entry.

Since your original post some, including US and German Governments, have found other reasons for removing Kaspersky software. You might care to view earlier posts here
