I've been having tecnical problems for 9 days now....
Day 1: It was blamed on the exchange not up until 6am.
Day 3: Now is a port was not open, BT's fault. Line failed tone test. Could be 5 days to sort out. #Error 300/200.
Day 5: Card from BT through door saying line is OK. Tried phoning, 2 Hr wait for Level 3 Support. Added note to fault, now #Error 200.
Day 6: Tried Phoning 2hr wait again. Added a Message on fault will phone me back.
Day 7: Tried Phoning 2hr wait again. Ask if fault still open and why havn't phoned, 72Hrs wait for level 3 call back aparently.
Day 8: Tried Phoning ...... Still waiting.....
Day 9: Tried Phoning ...... Still waiting.....
If you are thinking of getting sky I'll wait a couple of months if I were you.

seems more like a BT fault rather than sky's.

*If there was ever a BT problem, it was fixed within 2 days.
Still waiting for Sky to fix the fault on their end now.... Who knows what the problem realy is, can't speak to anyone without waiting 2Hrs.
The best laught ever is trying to contact customer services to complain. It says becuse of demand they can't take anymore calls and says ring back later, then hangs up ..... after the mandatory 20 number presses. This does get anoying after 6 atempts.

Are you using the freephone number? What time are you calling -- I always get through with no queue at about 9/10pm on the freephone number the couple of times I've called.

oh I get through after about 2 rings, but the ones who answer can't help me cos I need to speak to level 3, and thats the 2 hr wait......

What's giving you Error #200 / how do you know its Error #200 ??
|

The 'sky test' button on the router will return these sort of error codes.
|

God knows what they have done but it's got worse.....
I can't make phone calls now!!! Havn't been able to since Friday.
Reported a faulty line to BT, gonna look at it today. But they looked at the line Last Monday and everything was fine.... Who knows.....

This seems like the nightmare I went through with UK Online / Easynet
All of this, is mis-communication between the ISP and BT.
How simple is it to unplug and re-plug?
I'm putting a bet dwn that, what's going to happen now is BT will fix your voice but completely knock out any DSL on your line.
Unless if they have learned from the days I suffered.

Got a reply back from the complaint to James Murdoch ... aka Julie....
I am sorry that no contact has been made from our Tier 3 Team with regard to the technical issues that you have encountered, however please be assured that I have passed your enquiry to Tier 3 and requested they contact you.
But that was yesterday.
No service, no contact, no suprise.

Where do you see "Error 200" displayed?

You have got to look on the bright side.
Got two letters from Sky yesteday. One advertising their great service, the other reminding me of how much I'm paying for it.

No, you said
"Day 5: Card from BT through door saying line is OK."
The problem is still with BT as it always has been

The physical problem might be with BT however the real problem seems to be Sky not reporting it and escalating it if necessary. In other words, not caring, which is tipical...
The way the BB industry is set up the end-users can not contact that part of BT, only the ISP. It is the ISP duty first of all to report the fault to BT (do you think BT will just go by chance to that particular exchange and check that particular line???), follow it up and if it doesn't get resolved even escalate it.
During my connection I also had a "fault" with BT (or maybe just not doing it properly) but my ISP (not Sky of course) got on the case, even contacted their manager in BT (ISPs have their assigned contacts in BT of course) and got it sorted in 2 days.
According to a lot of posts this is what Sky fails to do, still. It seems it takes days just to get trough their own system, from the completely useless Tier 1 to Tier 3, or what ever they do...
The bottom line is, any ISP is "perfect" when things work OK, it is when you have a problem that you need to see the commitment and customer service... From what I have seen written about Sky, the only happy customers are the ones that had it working straight away. Everything else is such a hassle (unneeded)...
Good luck with them anyway. I am surprised you still keep up with them instead of just cancelling and going to a proper ISP.
Cheers.

Saying BT are investigating it.
I suppose an email is better than no email. I wonder if the reason i'm getting these emails are because I complained to the James Murdoch email address.

Sky ask BT to do the work, BT should do the work. There's nothing to escalate.

Not worth a comment, noticed so far how realistic your postings are... Here to improve Sky ratings I guess...
|
|
|
|
Which ISP are you with?
|
|
|
|
la-la-la...
Still havn't got a clue what is going on. When I ring up they say the ticket is still open but it's with BT Engineers. Can't give me any more information because they can't see the tier 3 comments...

Have you had any ADSL connection at all? Does the phone work?
|
|
|
|
Phone works no ADSL
|
|
|

and it has been since the 11th October. Waiting for BT to fix it.....
Surly it dosn't take BT nealy a month to fix something. I think somone is telling porkies.

I am not really sure your phone would work on the same line if it's cabling fault.
BT Wholesale should be able to confirm something like this (line cabling fault). Call their marker helpdesk at 0800 169 0934, option 2 and then option 2 again. Explain that you have waited so long and BT has been blamed with a faulty line and that you want to verify that. They should help, even though it is not a marker question.
They helped me when my former ISP was claiming they sent a cease order to BTW, they can confirm or deny.
And why the he** are you still waiting for Sky?????
Cheers.
|
|
|
|
Being an employee of the said line, the marker helpdesk will just advise you to go through your ISP & because its a sky service, it's going through the local loop anyway, so it wont be anything to do with Wholesale! Enquires to the line should be for markers only!

It's to do with Openretch

PS : Im updating ADSL Guide with your wonderful progress. They say that receiving bad customer service a customer tells 10 people. I think Im doing better with over 6700 views.
But I've had no reply :-(

Will post stats soon.

Credited my account for money spent with no service.
And a 5 good will gesture, for the phone calls.
So I'm down 10 for no xbox live access for 2 months, and 10 for my easynews account I couldn't use!
I think I will send another e-mail.

To be honest, I am not sure the xbox live and easynet access are Sky's problem ie the provision of a broadband service does not include xbox live and easynet.
IMO you should be trying to get the money out of microsoft and easynet.

My daughter switched to Sky 2 months ago and is still waiting for it to work. They have been blaming BT all this time. I considered going to Sky and am glad I didnt and never will now since I have seen how my daughter has been treated and lied too. On one call to CS they told her she had cancelled the order then in the same call she was told there was a problem with the Xchange !!! There have been many more calls like that. She will never know whats going on because BT wont discuss as she has to go through Sky
I am considering cancelling my Sky TV contract (40+) just because of the way they are behaving. Well not just because the TV progs are rubbish anyway. I know it my business wont being lost wont bother them but think of the mony I will save.
