Ping - Interleaving for Gaming

[link to this post]

Basically wondering if SKY max comes with interleaving - ive looked through the forums, but nothing conclusive to se for definite. If it doesnt, how can i improve my ping to gaming servers/websites? Im only 1.2 km from my exchange, only had connection for 2 days so kinda clueless :S Thanks!

Yes, I think it does. Pings are still good for me though ~30ms from NW England.

Well you will need to pay a premium price for a premium service. I get 20-30ms which is fine for me. If I wanted 10-20ms I would expect to pay 30 a month to Nildram or something not a fiver to Sky.

lukem i understand your point of view, but legistically there is no reason why i should get such a high ping with the quality of my line and distance from exchange - plus sky broadband may be only 10 pounds, but you cant get it unless you have sky tv which is 30 quid (and the rest)

Wrong.

"Join Sky TV as a brand new customer and get 3 months half price on all packages from 7.50 a month (then 15). Its your choice. All you have to do is select 2, 4 or 6 mixes then choose to add Sky Sports or Sky Movies for the ultimate package. Build a Sky TV package to suit you. Prices are currently 15 - 43.50 a month."

I dont know about Ukonline (sorry easynet.. err sorry sky broadband) But bulldog offer a fast path ADSL2+ profile which gives the same pings as ADSL1 (~15ms UK servers), however I doubt the sky tech support would have the slightest clue what the hell you would be talking about if you asked them, probably would be able to get fast path with the parent company Ukonline however their BB is a lot more than 10!!

ADSL2+ Bulldog Sync'd at
8.1mb/864k Up
51db attenuation, 5db SNR Speedtouch 585
4.1KM Line Length (2.9KM from exchange)
