Sky Max Available When?

I ordered Sky MAX yesterday after getting a MAC from Pipex in what seems a near record time of under 4 hours without any undue pressure other than an excess of 'niceness' on my part.

Not sure when the router will turn up from Sky but this evening the BT order tracking showed LLU provision as due by Feb 7th with an IPStream Cease by Feb 12th.

Does this mean, Sky willing, that I should be using Sky Max by Feb 7th?

I've opted for self-instal of the router. That was a wise choice, wasn't it?

The Sky lady who took my order over the phone was very competent, double checking everything, especially what she had entered as the MAC. On the evidence I have so far I've been suitably impressed.

I can't help with the dates but I can say my install date was spot on. You don't need to CD for self-install, just plug the router into your ethernet port and it should be as easy as that as your security details are hardcoded in the router.

The password you receive in the mail is to login to the Sky portal for emails etc, but if you choose not to use the CD you will not get the 12-months free McAfee offer.

Router came today as did a letter with a password.
What about the User ID? Is that going to be in another letter?
Oh and though strictly speaking I don't need the Sky instal CD that came with the router it was damaged anyway.

Hi TC, as I mentioned above you don't get a user ID as such as the password and ID are hardcoded into the router - the password you received is to log into the portal for emails etc.

The McAfee software is available from the SKY site and I assume you can install from the CD without anything else from it - there is a setup.exe in the relevant directory.

Didnt install anything from the CD - too much like AOL

My Norton subscription had just run out some McAfee for a year for nothing seems ok, not certain I would pay for it!
