Finallly

[link to this post]

Well finally connected today after being messed about for a good 2 months.

Connection stats of:
Down: 8096
Up: 768
SNR: 11.4
Attn: 41

From the advanced stats I can see im on that GMD.T setting thing insted of ADSL2+. Not sure at the moment, would it be worth getting them to switch me to ADSL2+ I i'm sure with an SNR of 11.4 it can go a little higher but how much higher ?

if its only 1/2 a meg i'll leave it be as i'm getting faster than before as it is.

Any advice ? show I get it switched to ADSL2+ or stick with what i've got ??

You may get more with ADSL2+ but its weighing up the hassle of getting it switched for a marginal speed boost.

You may get another 2Megs. Its up to you really - just a matter of getting through to tier-3 and arguing your case.

Hardly worth it with those stats, they look fine... Increasing it might only make your connection unstable.

Cheers,

Mark

yeah got to agree , been monitoring the snr over the last day or so and it does tend to drop to around 5.8 - 6 around 9pm so increasing the speed would probably force me to reboot the router later on.
