Yahoo email with SKY using Outlook

[link to this post]

Hi peeps,

I'm considering signing up with SKY, but the Technical Support team are not able to answer my question convincingly (the answer "I think it will work" is not giving me confidence.)

I thought I would open the question up to the forum to see if any of you guys can answer:

I want to continue to use my Yahoo email account when I get SKY Broadband, I will be using Outlook as my email client. I have seen the SKY POP3 and SMTP server details, and am happy with how I will set-up that part.

What I have come a cropper with a previous ISP, is that the SMTP server rejects any attempt to send an email if my email address domain is not what it is expecting i.e. for sky my email would have to end with sky.com rather than yahoo.co.uk.

Has anyone managed to setup Outlook / Outlook Express with an Yahoo account using the SKY SMTP server details ?

I realise that I could just use Web Mail, but I don't want to as I prefer Outlook.

Thanks,
