[link to this post]

ive just recieved my router and connected okay yesterday to the speeds i was expecting

only problem is i now need a wireless network card with a better signal strength. Is the router a 54mbps or 108mbps as my belkin network is card is 54mbps

if the router is 108mbps then i will have to purchase a netgear wireless card

If you log on to your router at http://192.168.0.1 and if your router is a netgear DG834GT then it should say that it's a 108g

my belkin does connect to it but the signal strength is not the best in certain room and i get a reduced speed which sucks

thats why im wondering if its better to get a 108mbps wirless network card instead of my 54mbps card

How fast are you actually connecting wirelessly - bearing in mind that 54Mbps is probably 4 to 5 times faster than your connection to the internet.

If you wanted the extra hike in speed to connect to another machine locally, I can understand the problem...
