Same thing happened to my mate, all looked fine but no IP.

I called CS and they confirmed his line was up but it would be 72-hrs before he could use it.

Being a bit cynical i thought they were just stringing him along, this was a Friday afternoon, on the Monday morning he had an IP.

I seem to recollect that it says something about waiting time in the intro letter you get from Sky but don't quote me on that

Which service have you subscribed to ? If you have 448 up, you are either on Sky Connect, or still on Pipex. Sky Mid and Max have 768 upload speeds, I believe.

were on the `mid` package (or supposed to be) - and according to everything i`ve read that 448 is the upload (unless they`ve changed it!)

activation date (according to the letter ) was wednesday 5/9/07

BT `fixed`` the line fault today (no voice) - and now guess what

BT says there not a fault and to contact sky - if this carries on then tbh i want out of the comedy circus.

An email to the CEO of BT, Ben Verwaayen, often works wonders. BT email addresses take the form of [email protected]

more of an update (after an hour on the phone)

apparantly we are the only LLU customer on the exchange and there is a fault with the dslam (apparantly) and its being changed today BUT

when asked if we will have adsl the reply from tier 3 was `BT will still need to perform a twisted pair shift and this can take 5 working days`

now when moving dslam in the first place - they have to do this anyway (so i was led to believe)

this will mean we lost adsl on 28th august (pipex deleted details from radius server early) - and still don`t have it back now , coming on 3 weeks later, and by next week (thursday he said was worst case that it could be live).

this is a getting to be a joke - when BT change a dslam would they also move the twisted pair to it as well?

I think it gets a bit more complicated than that, unfortunately. The DSLAM is Sky's property, so Sky's contractors will be doing that. The tie pair has to be fitted by BT, I believe, because it attaches to BT's property. Not that BT would deliberately slow things down, because you're not using their services
