Your own router with sky?

Is it possible to use a 2700hgv router in place of sky`s own router,does anyone use one with their connection.

Sky's T&Cs say that you have to use the router they supply. However, all the current routers they supply have been 'hacked' to get the username and password required to use any router of your choosing.

The 2700hgv has a good reputation on longer lines,which is why i asked.
