Connection Speeds

My SkyMax connection was activated last week, stats are

ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 8160 kbps 768 kbps
Line Attenuation 18 db 5 db
Noise Margin 10 db 11 db


Does that sound right? im closer to the exchange than a friend and his connection sync's at 15000 kbps (or thereabouts)

Get in touch with tech support and ask to be put on ADSL2+

I eventually got to speak with someone in the customer solutions team (or something like that) They discovered that the line was capable of 15.5Mbps but the speed was set at 8Mbps... I had to be quite insistent that what the first line folks where telling me wasn�t the case�.

Glad I didn�t give up or take their word for it, my router is now connecting at just over 10Mbps so i'm guessing the problem now some dodgy extension wiring from the previous occupants attempts to run an extension up stairs
