One step closer to coming to Sky from Pipex...

Got the modem today: Netgear one came through. Checked Sky website and told activation date is Monday 10 March.

So hopefully will all go smoothly.

Just signed up tonight, can you tell me what router they supply please?

If you get the current netgear one it's a DG934 with customised Sky firmware.

Signed up for Max the other week, estimated date is this Thursday and still no sign of my router. Tomorrow is the 5th working day they quote for delivery so if it hasn;t turned up i'll be on the phone

On AOL at the mo, my line syncs at 8160 Kbps/448 Kbps, I tend to get about the equivalent of 6.5 to 7Mbps courtesy of AOL's insistence on using interleave.

My current line stats for the downstream/ upstream are


Line Rate 8160 Kbps 448 Kbps
Noise Margin 13.9 dB 28.0 dB
Line Attenuation 28.0 dB 15.5 dB
Output Power 19.8 dBm 12.3 dBm

I'm hoping to get a decent speed as from what I can make out these sort of stats should make me viable for ADSL2+, what do you reckon??

Plugging those stats into http://www2.farina1.com/ADSL/default.aspx gives an ADSL2+ estimated sync of 17458Kbps with an estimated throughput of 15450Kbps.

You appear to be a member of quite a rare group - those who sync at more than the normal ADSL maximum of 8128 kbps.

Does anyone have the spec? I need 4 ports wired and ethernet to the main PC, will it do this?

As far as I'm aware, the DG934 is the DG834 with Sky's firmware, so the hardware will be the same, i.e. 4 ethernet ports on the back.
