Email settings

[link to this post]

Finally moved to Sky today - bye bye Pipex

I have my own email domain and I download my emails in Outlook. Was able to do this no problem with the Pipex ISP but not sure of the settings I need for Sky.

I got:
incoming: mail.mydomianname.co.uk
outgoing: smtp.tools.sky.com

my user name is my domain email

Any ideas of what I can do in order to send/receive emails.

Well I got there a bit but still having problems. Did a search on google to find things.

Now able to send/receive my emails but it says the email has come from @sky.com but want it to be @domiainname.co.uk

From another thread....
In reply to:

If you log into your account at www.sky.com, select email to get into Sky's gmail webmail portal. Click on settings and select the accounts tab, there's a option to register non sky email addresses.

See the support link here-->> http://www.sky.com/toolssupport/22370?hl=en

Edit=> Once an address is confirmed you can use their SMTP server to send emails without it changing the From: address.

Does your email provider not have its own portal?

e.g: my domain names are with 1&1.co.uk and I use their portals to send and receive all my email direct without having to use SKY email at all, the latter being only used for SKY to contact me.

This way you would never have any problems with having to change settings when changing ISPs

Yep that is what I used after a lot of playing around.

Seems ok at the moment.
