That's regular for Sky smile

Give CS a call and ask them to put you on the gaming profile. You can wait until the 10 day training period is up if you want but I rang them 20 minutes after being activated and they were more than happy to swap my profile.

Will my ping times improve if i ring and ask to change to the gaming profile?
I havent yet but pings seem a bit more stable now.

They may do but they are already good for Sky. The tech people have always been more than happy to change the profiles and they will probably run through all the different ones to see which suits your line best smile

Not sure about the change in attenuation, I never noticed it here, and it doesn't look like your speed is going to increase.

Could still go up further.
Sky appear to start off at a lower power output, so the link has a lower margin available.
If you download the Sky D-Link password extractor from http://pathogenrush.blogspot.com/2010/10/dsl-2640s-p... it also has a button to obtain advanced stats. Within that it'll state the downstream and upstream power.

It'd probably be easier to just ring them and convince tier 1 to pass you over to tier 2 so you can get the gaming profile applied to your line.

I phoned up on the evening after my install and the updated me to gaming profile without any questions or passing me over to another tier of tech support. The whole process took 3 minutes during which I could see the router resync at a different SNR.

The gaming profile isn't always the best profile for everyone. Call them back and explain you were better off previously as they have several profiles to choose from. If ping isn't important to you though, just stay as you are smile

Edit: Just noticed your first hop and it looks like you are on the old easynet network. This is different with regards to profiles and hopefully someone else will be along to explain how exactly tongue

This forum is a good place to ask while you're waiting.
