New FTTC Installation (Hardware question)

[link to this post]

Hi

What's the latest procedure these days when ordering BT FTTC (up to 80mbps) broadband these days in terms of the hardware that's sent out?

Do they still ship out the HG612 dedicated FTTC modem that then attaches to the router via ethernet? Or have they moved on to just shipping out an integrated VDSL integrated router?

If you are signing up for Sky Talk as well you will get the latest broadband hub (SR203) because calls are via Sky's VoIP service unless you specifically ask for calls over the copper landline. In the latter case you may get the older Q hub (ER110 or ER115).

The old HG612 modem hasn't been supplied for quite a few years now.

Hi, thank you for the response. Do you happen to know exactly what model Sky provides for customers taking up the FTTC broadband connection?

Simon has tried to answer that question, bold red above for FTTC with VOIP telephone service or bold blue above if FTTC with traditional telephone service over copper.
