Sky FTTP 500 - ASUS RT-AX86U

Just wondering if i purchase an ASUS RT-AX86U router will I be able to use this on Sky's FTTP 500 service?

Others will be able to confirm but I believe you would need to have Merlin firmware running on it for you to be able to use DHCP Option 61 settings for the Sky username and password.

Yes but it requires 3rd party firmware like Merlin.

I have this exact router, running Merlin. I wouldn't use an Asus without it.

Just waiting on router to arrive and have already download merlin wrt firmware so I'm ready to get this running asap!

happy days, no need for custom firmware as the latest version of Asus official firmware had DHCP option 61 as an option.

Added Cloudflare DNS and wooosh, fastest I have recorded via wifi 6 is 517 on the down and 72 on the upload!
